Two Years Later, and I Still Remember How Tiny She Was

I still remember the day I walked into baby O.'s home for her newborn session like it was yesterday. The soft light pouring through the window, the calmness in the air, and that precious little bundle—so fresh, so tiny, so peaceful.

Today, baby O. is already two years old. Full of life, full of personality, and definitely not so tiny anymore! She's got opinions, a sparkle in her eyes, and a big presence wherever she goes. Watching these little ones grow is such a privilege… but oh, how fast it all goes.

That’s why I always remind parents: the best time to photograph a newborn is within the first 15 days of life. During those early days, babies are usually sleepier and curl up naturally into those sweet, cozy poses. It’s the perfect window to capture their tiny fingers, wrinkly toes, and sleepy smiles before they start to stretch out and change forever.

O.’s session was done right in the comfort of her home. We kept things simple—natural, basic poses, soft blankets, and the quiet magic of a brand-new life. I love in-home sessions because they allow families to relax and be themselves. And looking back at those images now, I know we froze a moment in time that her mama will treasure for years to come.

Photographing newborns isn’t just about taking pretty pictures—it’s about preserving memories of a time that’s here for a blink and gone in a flash. I feel so honored every time I get to be a part of that.

So to O.’s mama—thank you for trusting me to capture those first days. And to all the mamas out there with a brand-new baby (or one on the way), don’t wait too long. They grow so fast.

Your tiny newborn won’t stay tiny forever—but the memories can.
